Photoluminescence spectroscopy of quantum dots

Spectra of different sized quantum dots

In this application note, HORIBA shows that alloyed CdSeTe quantum dots have a non-linear change in their Quantum dots have potential applications in optoelectronics, biosensing, bioimaging, memory devices and light sources. In this application note featuring the FluoroMax Plus® spectrofluorometer, HORIBA shows that alloyed CdSeTe quantum dots have a non-linear change in their emission spectra, which is dependent on their size and composition. The QDs’ emission can be as long as 850 nm, which could find application in vivo imaging, thanks to the greater penetration depth of near infrared light.
