Robotic system to pick bacterial colonies and deposit them on MALDI target plates. Selection of colonies can be manual or automatic, and colonies can be preselected based on size and colour discrimination. A patented liquid deposition method enables a significant increase of MALDI-TOF microbial identification scores. The preparation process is documented with photos at all key stages to provide traceability.
